Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of PetFinderLB, including the website, pet profile pages, NFC or QR-enabled pet tags, recovery pages, and related services. By using PetFinderLB, registering a tag, creating a pet profile, or accessing a recovery page, the user agrees to these Terms. If the user does not agree, the service should not be used.

2. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

Users must provide accurate and current information when registering a tag or creating a pet profile. Each user is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials, restricting unauthorized access to the account, and updating pet and contact information whenever it changes.

3. Description of the Service

PetFinderLB provides smart pet identification products and related digital tools, including pet registration, owner contact display, recovery pages, privacy options, community alerts, and printable posters. PetFinderLB may add, modify, suspend, or remove features at any time. Some features may depend on compatible devices, internet access, NFC availability, QR scanning, or third-party providers.

4. Tags, Scans, and Recovery Flow

When a compatible device scans a PetFinderLB tag, the finder may be directed to a recovery page that displays information chosen by the pet owner and steps for contacting the owner. Users understand that scan success may vary depending on device compatibility, tag condition, internet access, physical damage, environmental wear, browser limitations, or user error. PetFinderLB does not guarantee that every scan attempt will succeed or that every lost pet will be recovered.

5. User Content and Registration Data

Users retain responsibility for information they submit, including pet names, photos, medical notes, owner contact details, and other content placed on a pet profile. The user represents that submitted information is lawful and accurate and does not violate third-party rights. PetFinderLB may host, display, process, and transmit content as needed to operate the service, including showing selected contact details to a finder during recovery.

6. Privacy Settings and Owner-Controlled Sharing

PetFinderLB offers privacy-related controls, including privacy lock options and owner-controlled sharing of contact details. Owners are responsible for choosing what information appears on their recovery page and reviewing those settings periodically. If a user chooses to display contact information, that information may be seen by members of the public who scan the tag or access the recovery link.

7. Acceptable Use

Users and finders may not misuse the service. Prohibited conduct includes:

• Registering a tag for a pet the user does not own or manage.
• Uploading false, misleading, abusive, or unlawful content.
• Using the recovery flow to harass, spam, stalk, scrape, or profile others.
• Attempting to interfere with tags, scan flows, account access, or security.
• Copying, reverse engineering, or exploiting the service beyond permitted use.
• Using PetFinderLB in any way that violates applicable law.

PetFinderLB may suspend or terminate access where misuse, fraud, abuse, or security risk is suspected.

8. Hardware and Physical Product Disclaimer

PetFinderLB tags are physical products subject to normal wear, tear, loss, and environmental conditions. Users are responsible for checking tags remain attached, readable, and functional. PetFinderLB is not liable for losses caused by detached collars, broken attachments, damaged tags, unsupported devices, or similar physical or technical failures outside reasonable control.

9. Community Tools and Posters

PetFinderLB may provide community alert tools and printable posters to support lost-pet recovery. These are optional support features and do not guarantee visibility, reach, response time, or successful reunification.

10. Fees and Commercial Terms

PetFinderLB does not require recurring subscriptions for core owner contact features and offers free profile registration and related recovery support tools. If paid products or upgrades are introduced, charges will be presented at purchase and become part of the applicable transaction terms.

11. Intellectual Property

PetFinderLB and its branding, logos, website content, software, product design elements, and service materials are owned by or licensed to PetFinderLB and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

12. Service Availability

PetFinderLB aims to provide a reliable experience, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, outages, software changes, hosting issues, third-party failures, or force majeure events may affect availability.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. PetFinderLB disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PetFinderLB and its operators, affiliates, suppliers, and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. Total liability will not exceed the amount paid by the user for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the event, or one hundred U.S. dollars if no amount was paid.

15. Indemnity

The user agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PetFinderLB and its operators from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from the user's content, misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another's rights.

16. Termination

PetFinderLB may suspend or terminate any account, pet profile, or service access where there is a violation of these Terms, suspected misuse, legal risk, or operational necessity. Users may stop using the service at any time.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms should be governed by the laws selected by PetFinderLB in its published legal information. If PetFinderLB operates from Lebanon, Lebanese law is a practical default unless another governing law is intentionally selected.

18. Changes to These Terms

PetFinderLB may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted on the website unless stated otherwise.
